“Cinammon dreams (about Lev, the dog)”

A blizzard would be upon them soon and restlessness was pushing Lev further away from the stillness that would always find its way to him, every time he let his mind wander thru the cinnamon tree fields of the Horton plains. In those moments, in the highlands of dear Ceylon, he’d let himself travel back home to run the Kirigalpotta mountain up and down, with his brothers. The muscles fueled by the screams of field workers waging bets on which one would be the first to the top. Lev knew the respect due to his human brothers. People with whom he shared the land and who carried an entire world of hardship on their backs without loosing faith in the goodness of Man. Gentle eyes in hard faces left alone in a land of green, far away from the blizzard to come.
