“Not what you’d expect”
The freezing gusty winds had stopped, and the earth was now resting in a welcomed silence. Just a few hours earlier, Sven and the others, found themselves fighting against ancient white devils for each step forward, reaching out for the last remains of strength in their tired bodies. But now, the quiet blinding vastness was the son and daughter of the appeased elements, and it was inviting to stillness. After all the snow and cold, it was time to stop and reassess the plan. Even if they felt without one, now. For the time being, all there was left were small pieces of an idea of what it should be. Like rags hanging out to dry waiting to be pieced up together and start making sense, once again. Sven knew he had this to thank for, to Ligia. It was her foresight and her warnings that put everyone on the road before the closing of the passage. And because of her, they could now feel the salt of the Hudson Bay, in the air.
